Amazing! Over Already?!?
The derby of the Ukrainian Premier League showed that there is only one true contender to the title.
Although Dynamo Kyiv tried, Shakhtar is just way too strong for any internal opponent.
Dynamo was lucky to go in at half time with a score of 1-1, but, unfortunately for them, their players could not call themselves as lucky during the second half.
There's no point in following the Ukrainian league closely anymore, for now, because it could have only one outcome, based on what transpired on Sunday, in Donetsk.
By the way, Dynamo is not even second anymore, because Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk overtook the team from the capital, with a superior goal difference.
Both Dynamo and Dnipro are on 18 points, but Dnipro's goal difference is +12, while Dynamo is down to seven more goals scored than conceded, following their second loss of the season.
Shakhtar is already 6 points ahead, after only 8 matchdays, and that is looking like an unassailable advantage.

I Think It's All Over for Dynamo
Dynamo Kyiv has no chance to win the Ukrainian league anymore, in my opinion.
It's too bad for them, because they led for so long, but that loss to Shakhtar really fucked them up.
And, I'm sure, hearing that Shakhtar was even beating Metalist Kharkiv, away from home, took all of the wind in their sails in the game at Zorya, today.
The fact that Shakhtar had, presumably, a very difficult game against Metalist, who played so well in the Europa League this season, was Dynamo's only hope.
But Shakhtar did win at Kharkiv, 2-1 (after being down 0-1), and Dynamo finished goalless, away, against Zorya, and Shakhtar is going to be the champion team unless they miraculously lose at home to Oleksandriya (which I'm sure it's not going to happen).
The Dynamo squad members ought to feel ashamed of themselves for the way they let this title slip away.

Shakhtar Seemingly on the Up and Up
Mircea Lucescu 's team may have just done it again to their fierce rivals, Dynamo Kyiv.
Shakhtar delivered Dynamo's first loss of the season, and managed to pull even on points with the team from the Ukrainian capital.
Teixeira (in minute 55) and Rakitskiy (80) are those responsible for the three huge points that put the Donetsk team in first place.
If they keep their nerves for the last four matchdays, which is very likely according to how the Ukrainian Premier League generally progresses, Shakhtar would gain their third championship in a row, and their sixth in the last eight.
Congratulations to Shakhtar, boo to Dynamo!

Metalist, Probably Out of Contention
For a while there, Metalist Kharkiv was getting close to the Ukrainian giants, Dynamo Kyiv and Shakhtar Donetsk.
But, lately, they haven't been doing well in the league.
They only got one point from the last two encounters, and are seemingly out of the title race.
Meanwhile, of course, Dynamo kept winning, while Shakhtar hasn't lost a point since a good while back, too.
Dynamo Kyiv is still unbeaten.
There are six more matches to go, besides this one, though.

Shakhtar Loses Ground
Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk played valiantly in Donetsk on Sunday, and succeeded to take one point from the champions.
They even opened the scoring, in minute 29, but Shakhtar tied it only 11 minutes later. Lucescu's team could not get the win, however.
Given Dynamo Kyiv 's victory, 1-0 against Arsenal Kyiv, the gap between Shakhtar and the leaders increases by two points, to three. Dynamo has 55, Shakhtar 52.
And Metalist is now closer to Shakhtar than Shakhtar is to Dynamo. The Kharkiv team is trailing the Donetsk team by 2 points.
The second-placed team in the Ukrainian Premier League gets to participate in the Champions League play-offs, with a chance to reach the group stage.

Metalist Leaves It Late... Real Late!
Only in the fifth minute of injury time was Metalist Kharkiv, the team that massacres opponents in the Europa League, able to score the winning goal against Obolon Kyiv, the last-placed team in the Ukrainian league.
Serhiy Pshenychnykh was the one who scored. His was a powerful shot, from outside the box, exactly when both the goalkeeper and the rest of the Obolon defense were dreaming of the final whistle and forgetting about blocking all chances for shooting.
Seeing that goal, and only that goal, one will probably wonder: "And this was barely in minute 90 +5? Where was this kind of game play in the rest of the game?"
Well, anyway, the three points are theirs now, and the nice thing is that finally somebody seemingly has the potential to break the domination of the big two (Dynamo Kyiv and Shakhtar Donetsk).
At the current time, Dynamo has 52 points, Shakhtar has 51, and Metalist 50. (But not to forget that Metalist played one more game.)
