I can't believe dinamo zagreb got into the Champions League this year, too!
And I can't help but think: who will they lose to, 1-7 at home, this time, on the final matchday, to make sure that specific opponent advances undeservedly from the group stage, again?
They got Sheriff Tiraspol, in the third qualifying round, and Maribor Branik, in the play-off round. What unbelievable luck! Probably any other team would and should have ousted this Croatian team...
And the double encounter against Ludogorets Razgrad, the Bulgarian champions, in the second qualifying round, comes to mind again. Ludogorets should have advanced from that tie. Two goals deep in injury time, one in minute 90 + 3, in Razgrad, and one in 90 + 8 (!), in Zagreb, unfairly put the Bulgarians out of contention.
With a little more care, luck and fairness, the scorelines should have said 1-0 and 2-2, not 1-1 and 2-3. (Or at least 1-0 and 2-3 or 1-1 and 2-2...)
So, nobody is going to be able to make a successful argument in front of me, saying that Dinamo Zagreb deserved to go into the group stage of the Champions League, this year. Not over Ludogorets, that's for sure!
What a pity!
