Should Canada qualify for Gold Cup finals automatically?
It's probably okay for the United States, because they're always the hosts, and maybe even for Mexico, because they win the tournament on more than half of all occasions (and it would be a waste of time to have them playing against Aruba and Bermuda, for example, or even Belize and Nicaragua).
But Canada really has a weak team at the present time.
And aren't teams like Jamaica and maybe Guatemala more deserving to be there than Canada?
The opening game of this tournament saw a country that is not even independent clearly outplaying the second-largest country in the world (by area).
Very strange to watch. And pathetic, too, Canadians must admit.
Still, with all the Martinique chances, the match would have very likely ended 0-0, if not for the brilliant shot by Reuperne. That was one goal definitely worth putting on any highlight reel.
