Milan Finally Does Something Worthwhile
Udinese could have reached Milan's points total today, if they had only managed to beat the Rosso-Neri in Udine.
And they started well, with Antonio Di Natale putting them in front after only 19 minutes.
Although Udinese held on for about an hour of play, they eventually lost the game thanks to two goals by newcomer Maxi Lopez (77') and new sensation El Shaarawy (85').
Milan finally occupies top spot in the Serie A, at the present time, although Juventus could return to the summit if they beat Bologna on Sunday (or Parma on Wednesday).
Udinese fails to re-claim the last Italian Champions League spot from Lazio, and remains fourth.

None of the Top Five
In Italy, those teams belonging to the top five in the standings that played at home drew, while those that played away lost.
What a matchday!
Lazio sucked at Genoa, in the early game, proving that they only play well against teams that compete with inter, and then inter themselves lost at Roma, 4-0 (Ha! Ha!), and Udinese also conceded defeat at Fiorentina, 2-3, just like Lazio.
On the other hand, Juventus and Milan could not score goals on their home fields, and their games both ended in 0-0, against Siena (wow, for shame, Juve!) and Napoli, respectively.
Napoli looked presentable against Milan, but still they linger in 7th place, which is quite a weak performance from a team who is still in contention for the Champions League.
On a loosely-related note, Allegri believes Milan can catch Juventus. Well, duh! It's not like Milan is 15 points behind! Of course, Milan can still catch Juventus. Especially given how Juventus drops points at home every second home matchday.

What's happening to Milan?
Milan did a big favour to Juventus by sucking immensely in Rome today.
Two huge defeats in the last four matchdays, to potential title rivals, seem to say that Milan may not be the best equipped team in Italy to win the title.
Juventus remains on top, and undefeated, with a game in hand. Of course, that game is away, at Parma, but Juventus has not lost yet, like I said, so I personally expect at least one point for the Bianco-Neri.
Lazio scored the two goals that downed Milan in the last quarter of an hour.
With Udinese also winning, and Milan and Juventus not chalking up any more points (yet), the top of the Serie A has become tighter than ever this season.
But the Milan management really must do something, soon, because I think a loss to Juventus should practically put an end to their title aspirations.
(I mean, how can they win the title without beating Juventus, Udinese, Lazio or inter?)

Was Marchetti Serious?
I can understand that Klose played atrociously because he's a thousand. (Why is that guy still playing, really? Maybe in 2014, he'll finally beat Ronaldo's record of most goals in World Cups, and that's why he's still trying...)
But Marchetti really destroyed Lazio's hopes to do something worthwhile against inter Milan.
Even at the first goal, it seemed like the ball went through him, but the second goal was really a feat of remarkable incompetence, as far as goalkeepers are concerned. Anticipation is certainly not his forte. Not that speed is one of his qualities, either.
Unless, of course, inter finally raised some more money to spend on the Serie A, and texted him during the first half an hour of the game, or something. (I wouldn't be surprised if Marchetti had time to read texts, because Lazio totally outclassed its opponent in the first 30 minutes, or so. And, then, something weird happened, and they totally lost it.)
The Roman teams suck, I know (- more about that in another post -) but based on how well Lazio had started, I expected much better at least in this game.
For shame!...
