Inter Slips Up Again

Parma - Inter. 1-0.
Maybe the draw was more equitable, in all fairness. Both teams had good chances (even though I think Parma played just slightly better on the night, with or without the goal).

But this game will mostly be remembered thanks to an amazing run by Nicola Sansone, topped off with a very good shot, as well, that could not be stopped by Samir Handanovic. That's what made the difference.

So, Inter not only cannot make up any ground on leader Juventus, but they also go down to fourth in the league tables now. They remain behind Fiorentina, on 28 points, but now Napoli has overtaken the Milan team due to their win at Cagliari, two hours before.

Tomorrow, Lazio has the chance of moving within two points of Inter, and putting more pressure on Stramaccioni's team, if the Roman team beats Udinese at home.

10 Draws in 22 Matches

Looking at Juventus' performance against Parma, I have to say that, to me, they seem doomed to lose the Italian league title.
And it's all due to their inability to finish off opponents.

Sure, Juventus has no losses, but 10 draws means that, according to the current points system in effect in the footballing world, they have dropped 20 points because of those draws.
If they continue in the same fashion, even if they don't lose at all, they will drop at least 10-12 more points. That could just be enough for an in-form Milan to grab first place for good.

So, Conte's Juventus better start turning those draws into wins if they want some silverware this year. They should be inspired by their Coppa Italia performances.

Regarding the match itself, Juventus kept pressing their opponents, and Pirlo hit the post, but La Vecchia Signora hasto do better still. Oh, and Giaccherini really has to finish the chance, when he is alone with the opposing goalkeeper...
