After beating Twente away from home, the previous game, and maintaining their six-point lead, Ajax only needed one point on this matchday to finally secure the title.
They did that, and even more, actually, by defeating VV Venlo, at home, 2-0.
Siem de Jong, in minutes 8 and 59, was on target for the hosts.
Ajax could have even scored a third, having hit the bar at 2-0.
This is Ajax's 31st title. (Up until last year, they had not won a title since 2004, but now they got two in a row. PSV is next, in the Eredivisie honours list, with 21 Dutch titles, by the way.)
